The signing of the 19-year-old versatile midfielder has proven complicated following the sanctions imposed on Russian players and clubs. This was why a move could not conclude in the summer when Chelsea were close to bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Zakharyan’s interest in joining the Premier League giants. Meanwhile, Dynamo Moscow’s director Dmitry Gafin has hinted at resuming talks over a transfer.
There were reports of Chelsea agreeing on personal terms with Zakharyan. Gafin, however, is unaware of such details. As such, the 19-year-old versatile midfielder has a release clause of £12.6 million, which is not a problem for Chelsea to meet.
Chelsea could step up their efforts to sign Zakharyan in the coming days, as they could look to finalise a deal soon. Zakharyan is a player suited for their future squads. Those may also involve key summer arrivals Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, and Omari Hutchinson.
