Chelsea could solve their midfield crisis for just about £70 million as West Ham United midfielder Decline Rice could leave the club for that amount.

As per eminent journalist Matt Law, Chelsea are amongst the suitors for West Ham player Declan Rice who will be in the thick of action next summer. Chelsea have prioritised the signing of at least one midfielder next year.

The Blues could witness two of their senior players leaving Stamford Bridge next summer. Both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho might not choose to extend their existing deal and that might leave them very short-stocked in the middle of the park.

Rice is leading England’s midfield contingent in the World Cup and Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer as his price could further get lower to an attainable figure.

The Hammers snapped him up from the Chelsea academy and he came through the youth system with the Hammers before making it big in the Premier League.

Graham Potter might have to reshape his entire midfield and Rice could be the foundation. The youngster has shown great maturity at this stage of his career and he will only grow in stature.

With the player about to enter his final year of contract West Ham need to conclude a decision as they might lose him for free in the summer of 2024. A fee of £70 million has been deemed as a suitable fee by journalist Matt Law.

“Rice, he will definitely, definitely leave West Ham at the end of this season. I’m 100 per cent confident on that.

“West Ham are preparing to sell Declan Rice. I think it’ll be about 70 million (pounds).

“Chelsea aren’t actually in pole position at the moment for Declan Rice. There are a couple of clubs who have made big plays for Declan Rice.

“But that’s not because Chelsea aren’t going to. That’s just because a couple of clubs have tried to go early on Rice.

“And again I would expect Chelsea to move on Rice and again I would be quite surprised if anyone outbids Chelsea on Rice. Albeit, as I say, I think there are two clubs ahead of them at the moment – and I can’t say who they are, I’m sorry.”
