Arsenal can sign Mykhaylo Mudryk for £40 million

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, available for just £40 million.

According to a report from Daily Mirror, Arsenal lead the race to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk. And the 21-year-old winger will cost around £40 million.

Mudryk has been excellent for Shakhtar Donetsk this season, and he has impressed in the Champions League as well. A player of his quality deserves to play for a big club, and Arsenal would be the ideal step up in his career.

The Gunners are currently challenging for the Premier League title, and they are at the top of the table. They could certainly use more quality and depth in January, and Mudryk has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.

The reported £40 million price could seem like a steep outlay, but Mudryk has the quality to justify it in the coming seasons. The player reportedly wants a reunion with compatriot Oleksandr Zinchenko next season, and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal are willing to pay the asking price for him.

The 21-year-old will add pace, flair and goals to the Arsenal attack. He has contributed to ten goals and eight assists across all competitions for Shakhtar Donetsk this season.

Mikel Arteta has had to rely on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli this season and both players have done exceptionally well so far. However, the two players could use some rest and rotation. The arrival of Mudryk will allow the Arsenal boss to rotate his attackers and keep them fresh during the business end of the season.

The player has been linked with Newcastle United in recent months, but he prefers a move to Arsenal. The Gunners were very active during the summer transfer window, and they are likely to have the funds to bring in the necessary reinforcements in January as well.

Apart from Mudryk, they could use a quality central midfielder as well. The north Londoners have been linked with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, who could be signed on a bargain because of his contract situation. The Belgian will be a free agent at the end of the season.
