Leandro Paredes on Arsenal radar

Arsenal could look at the situation of Leandro Paredes ahead of January and possibly make an offer for the Argentine midfielder.

According to football.london, Leandro Paredes is on Arsenal’s radar ahead of the January transfer window. The Argentine midfielder has struggled for relevance at Juventus while on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal’s need for a midfielder continues to link them with many names across the market. Mikel Arteta wants a midfielder to shore up his options ahead of the second part of the season. The Gunners are keen to hold on to their top spot in the Premier League.

After a blistering start to the season, Arteta has steered Arsenal to the summit of the Premier League, winning 12 of the 14 games played so far. Manchester City are breathing down their neck in the second spot and are five points behind the north Londoners.

Until now, Arsenal have not suffered any significant injury blows and came through this period unscathed. The squad is by no means complete, and Arteta needs at least two-three players to improve the quality in depth.

A new midfielder, alongside a new winger, are critical, with the Arsenal boss pondering over several options presented to him by Edu Gaspar. Mykhaylo Mudryk remains their top attacking target, while Youri Tielemans is also a target. But a move for the Belgian is a bit complicated.

Recent reports have indicated Leicester City are confident about extending the Belgian’s expiring deal at the King Power. The news may come as a blow for the Gunners. While signing a new midfielder with Tielemans’s quality is not essential in January, Arsenal will remain open to emerging opportunities.

A cover for Thomas Partey is the need of the hour, and Palmeiras star Danilo remains a top target. However, if the 21-year-old becomes unachievable, Arsenal could switch their attention to another option.

Leandro Paredes has emerged on Arsenal’s radar as Arteta widens his search. The 26-year-old Argentine midfielder was of interest late in the summer, as the Gunners failed with an enquiry. He ended up joining Juventus on a loan deal, with the Bianconeri holding an option to buy.

The Argentine midfielder’s time in Serie A has not gone to plan after making only three starts under Massimiliano Allegri. Juventus youngsters Nicolo Fagioli and Fabio Miretti are ahead of Paredes in the pecking order.

If Arsenal can convince Paris Saint-Germain for a bargain deal, a move for Paredes could materialise in January. The French giants will likely cash in on the 26-year-old Argentine midfielder at the earliest opportunity. As things stand, Juventus are unlikely to take up their options and do not see Paredes for the long term.

Arsenal could benefit from Paredes’s experience in the game but will remain wary of paying over the odds for the Argentine. Their primary objective is to bring Danilo into the position, but the 26-year-old could prove a stop-gap option.
