Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the progress of Borussia Monchengladbach right-back Joe Scally.
As per 90min, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have had a keen eye on the development of USMNT international Joe Scally. The 19-year-old has been a subject of interest for a number of clubs.
Manchester United have drawn up plans to fix some of their issues, and bringing in a right back has been a priority. Erik ten Hag wants an adequate cover for Diogo Dalot and wants to move as soon as possible for that designated player.
The Red Devils have been linked with a plethora of players, with the likes of Max Aarons and Jeremie Frimpong featuring on their radar. But Manchester United yet to finalise any names. Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s impending departure could set up another arrival, as the former Crystal Palace right-back is no more the preferred choice in this new reign.
Manchester United are expected to find suitors for Wan-Bissaka in January as the manager seems to be not ready to offer him many chances. Despite Wan-Bissaka’s presence, Tyrell Malacia has been preferred over him on the right side on a couple of occasions, which could further be a hint of his potential exit.
Antonio Conte has also been on the lookout for a right wing-back and has looked at various targets. Both Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal have failed to impress, and the Tottenham manager wants to introduce a new face in January.
Scally has also been selected in the USMNT for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and would be hungry to deliver following a pretty successful season in the Bundesliga. The 19-year-old has started every game in the Bundesliga this term and could be ready for the next big leap in his brief football career.
Having played in a four man backline, the 19-year-old might need time to acclimatise to Conte’s system at Tottenham. But he will likely be given ample amount of time to set himself comfortably. Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to freshen up their squad once again, and they could come face to face in the pursuit of Scally once again.
