Manchester City are ready to offer a lucrative contract to Real Madrid midfield sensation Toni Kroos in an attempt to snatch the player in the summer.

According to Fichajes, Toni Kroos is on the radar of Manchester City as the Midfielder has been prioritized by the defending champions as a part of their summer overhaul.

Kroos’ existing deal will expire at the end of the current season and he isn’t in a hurry to rush towards a decision. He is very much in Carlo Ancelotti’s scheme of things and a new contract might be in the offing.

But the 32-year-old hasn’t committed to staying and might explore other options as he will be free to negotiate contacts with other clubs from January. City want to take advantage of his current contractual position and a likely reunion with Pep Guardiola could be on the cards.

The English champions are willing to offer him a steep wage hike to accelerate the transfer. Kroos currently pockets to the tune of €9 million per year and could earn a whopping €14 million should he decide not to extend his association with Madrid.

Ilkay Gundogan is in the last year of his City contract and it is highly likely that he will be leaving the club next summer. The English giants would need someone massive to fill his void and Toni could be an ideal signing.

Having already played under the tutelage of Guardiola the German midfielder knows how the manager thinks and even openly praised the Spanish manager.

City have struggled this season as teams like Brentford managed to get past them with ease. They will be eyeing some potential reinforcements next summer and grabbing Kroos on a free transfer would be a brilliant piece of business.

Real Madrid brought in Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga as a succession plan to their ageing midfield but Kroos has been a constant fixture in the starting lineup. Kroos reiterated his desire to hang up his boots in Madrid but in football, surprises are bound to happen.

City managed to reshape their squad by bringing Erling Haaland to their ranks this summer and adding Kroos next summer could fulfil their wish as it seems.
