Robert Sanchez has proven himself worthy of being one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League. The 24-year-old has risen through the ranks and become a top draw player under Graham Potter. At some point, he will join a top club, but for now, the Amex Stadium is his home.
Newcastle United were keen in the summer before baulking at his reported £50 million asking price and choosing to sign Nick Pope instead. Brighton will demand a significant fee for the Spaniard, especially after Sanchez’s call-up for the World Cup.
The report from Fichajes suggests Liverpool could be considering a move for Sanchez in January. Moreover, considering Jurgen Klopp has one of the best stoppers in Alisson Becker, these Sanchez links are surprising.

Liverpool are also linked with names like that of Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. Signing someone like Sanchez would take a lot of money, which Klopp should consider investing in other areas of his squad than in a goalkeeper.
Moreover, Alisson only signed a new deal at Liverpool and could remain the undisputed first choice for years. Hence, it’s impossible to see someone like Sanchez join them, especially in January when he remains a firm first choice at Brighton.
