La Liga champions Real Madrid will reportedly prioritise signing 18-year-old Brazilian striker Matheus Nascimento from Botafogo next summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Matheus Nascimento is a priority target for Real Madrid heading into the 2023 summer transfer window. The reigning La Liga champions will look to sign three players no matter what next year, with Jude Bellingham and Christopher Nkunku also high on their wishlist.

Matheus Nascimento is the latest prospect to emerge from the conveyor belt of prodigious talents in Brazil. The 18-year-old joined Botafogo over seven years ago and has gone from strength to strength since then. The teenage prodigy is already a regular for the first-team squad and is tipped for a bright future.

The Brazilian striker has turned out 36 times for Botafogo in the ongoing campaign. And while Nascimento’s tally of seven goals and one assist might not impress many, it is worth noting that he is still in his teens. And the player has made enough progress to capture the attention of Real Madrid.

The reigning La Liga champions have been closely monitoring the progress of the 18-year-old Brazilian striker for well over a year now. And with Nascimento turning 18, Real Madrid can now plan to secure his services in the 2023 summer transfer window.

The Merengues have suffered from the absence of Karim Benzema this season. And while Rodrygo Goes has done well when featuring as a central striker, the Brazilian attacker is better suited for the right-wing berth. In addition, with Benzema in the final phase of his career, Real Madrid will have to sign a striker soon.

Nascimento is thus a viable target for Los Blancos, who will prioritise signing the 18-year-old Brazilian striker next summer. Endrick, another Brazilian prodigy, is a top target for Real Madrid as a potential long-term offensive solution. But the Spanish champions cannot sign the Palmeiras whizkid for another two years.

Meanwhile, in addition to Nascimento, Real Madrid will also prioritise signing Jude Bellingham and Christopher Nkunku. But it will be interesting to see if the Merengues sign all their priority targets next summer.
