Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has turned down the opportunity to join Barcelona amid his contract situation at the Serie A club.
According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, Milan Skriniar has given Barcelona his verdict over a possible Bosman move in the 2023 summer transfer window. The 27-year-old Inter Milan defender is not interested in moving to Camp Nou amid his negotiations with the Serie A giants over a new contract.
Milan Skriniar has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A since joining Inter Milan from Sampdoria over half a decade ago. The Slovakian centre-back has been a pivotal figure for the Nerazzurri in the last five years. And he was instrumental when the Italian giants won the Scudetto two years ago.
The 27-year-old has turned out over 200 times thus far for Inter Milan, chipping in with 11 goals and four assists. Skriniar has also become one of the captains for the Nerazzurri and has donned the armband in Samir Handanovic’s absence. But the Serie A giants are in a spot of bother over Skriniar’s future as he is in the final year of his contract. Such a situation has alerted Barcelona.
Barcelona will likely enter the market for a centre-back again next summer despite bringing in two central defenders this past summer. But with Gerard Pique calling time on his illustrious career, the Blaugrana will have to look for a viable successor.

The Slovakian defender is not interested in joining Barcelona in the summer transfer window. So he has rejected the approach from the Blaugrana over a possible Bosman move. Skriniar will instead join Paris Saint-Germain if he leaves Inter Milan as a free agent next summer.
Barcelona even considered signing the 27-year-old in the January transfer window. But with Skriniar uninterested in moving to Spotify Camp Nou, the Catalan giants will have to set their sights on alternatives.
