Chelsea are preparing to make a move for Brazilian sensation Endrick who continues to impress for Palmeiras
Speaking on the Canal do Nicola Youtube channel, journalist Jorge Nicola has claimed that Premier League giants Chelsea are keen to make their move for Brazilian sensation Endrick.
The 16-year-old is one of the finest players in his age group and is attracting considerable attention from several of Europe’s top clubs. He made his senior bow for Palmeiras in October and has since scored three goals over five appearances. Not a bad haul at all for a teenager.
Under new ownership and management, Chelsea are undergoing an overhaul of sorts. The team still needs several additions before they can put themselves in the position to challenge for the top prizes. Boehly appears keen to make a splash in the transfer market and this augurs well for the club’s plans of a rebuild.
The Blues aren’t just looking at proven stars but also appear keen to build up a roster of young talents. The trio of Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slolina and Cesare Casadei were all brought in last summer with the future in mind.
The Blues appear to be far from done with their youth recruitment, and Endrick could prove to be the crowning addition to the roster. Primarily a centre-forward, he is capable of playing anywhere along the frontline and has the raw potential to develop into a world-class player.
The likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all in the fray for the player. This makes Chelsea’s job more challenging as they prepare to make their move. Nicola has rubbished claims that Real are leading the race for the player, providing Chelsea with some breathing space.
On the other hand, PSG are already making overtures and have even travelled to Brazil to consider their options. Chelsea’s interest is said to be concrete, and a move could be made in the coming days.
Landing a wonderkid such as Endrick would be a massive boost to Chelsea and also future-proof their attack. He could very well develop into a franchise player for the Blues in the Boehly era.
Chelsea were heavily linked with Neymar while the youngster was still at Sao Paulo. The Brazilian ace eventually moved to Europe but with Barcelona. The Blues will hope that lightning doesn’t strike twice in their pursuit of Endrick.
