Arsenal are keen on signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor as Mikel Arteta seeks an addition with different qualities to his current options.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are interested in Noah Okafor from Red Bull Salzburg. Mikel Arteta wants to add a forward to bolster his squad. And he wants a striker with different qualities from Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal are in flying form now, and Mikel Arteta wants to make the best of the opportunity. As the Premier League breaks for the World Cup, it will allow the club to think about future transfers.

If Arsenal maintain the top spot before the break, Arteta will likely look to add to his squad in January. A winger, midfielder, and striker could be on their wishlist. Arteta currently has Jesus as his undisputed first choice, with Nketiah, his deputy.

Both strikers have similar qualities in leading the line, and Arteta is seeking a different option. The new target is not considered to dislodge Jesus or Nketiah but to provide an extra dimension.

Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Brereton Diaz is a name on their list, but the Chilean international will be difficult to sign in January. Hence, the Gunners could look at other options, including Red Bull Salzburg’s Noah Okafor. The 22-year-old striker has proven his worth in Austria and could be open to a more significant challenge.

Okafor has been a consistent fixture in the Salzburg team over the last two seasons. He has registered nine goals in all competitions this term, including three strikes in the UEFA Champions League. At just over 6 feet, the Swiss forward will give a different dimension to the attack with his revered ability on the ball.

Additionally, his contract runs out in 2024, and he is currently valued at €18 million. He already has garnered tremendous interest from top clubs. A move in January is highly possible for the 22-year-old striker. Whether Arsenal are serious with their interest remains the question. But the report claims the Gunners are the front-runners to secure his signature.

Arteta is currently happy with Jesus’s contributions and somewhat content with that of Nketiah. At times, Arsenal have suffered from a lack of variation in the forward line, hence the need for a new option. Arteta will nevertheless prioritise bringing a winger first and then a midfielder. If there are funds and space in the squad, he could explore the idea of Okafor or another striker.
