With Frenkie de Jong being in a spot of bother at Camp Nou, Kessie might have fancied his prospects for the 2022/23 season. But the player has struggled to establish a foothold at the Catalan club.
The 25-year-old has started only four of the 17 games played by Barcelona this season, garnering 418 minutes of game time. The Ivory Coast international is behind Pedri, Gavi, Sergio Busquets, and de Jong in the pecking order.
