Gustav Isaksen is attracting considerable interest from Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United keen.

Calciomercato, who reported on AC Milan’s potential interest in Gustav Isaksen, suggest Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also keen on signing the winger. Those clubs are vying for the signature of the Danish international, valued at €20 million, ahead of the January transfer window.

Gustav Isaksen is putting in some eye-catching performances for FC Midtjylland this season. He has been a solid presence in the Europa League, scoring thrice in five games this season. The Dane has seven goals in 23 games across all competitions, and a few big clubs are showing interest in him.

The January market represents a good opportunity for clubs to bring players outside from the big-five leagues. Midtjylland in Denmark may not have regular football activities in the winter months, and players are often open to making a move.

Midtjylland could be open to a sale if clubs can meet their €20 million valuation of the winger. AC Milan have been particularly keen on adding him in the winter but face competition from top Premier League clubs. Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United are in with interest, with a transfer battle likely to ensue.

Newcastle United have been in terrific form and could be challenging for a top-four spot if they keep up with their current run. Eddie Howe might line up a few key additions to aid their push if they find themselves in such a probable position.

Similarly, West Ham, who are not in the best of forms, may look to bring attacking reinforcements. David Moyes has seen his side fail to score many goals this season. Bringing a player to aid that side of the pitch would be viable.

However, the biggest threat might come from Arsenal. Mikel Arteta has been keen on bringing in a wide attacker since the summer. The need to bring a cover for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka is a priority, as the Gunners could end up challenging for the Premier League title.

A lack of options in wide areas has already seen the duo play many games, including the Europa League. Arteta will reportedly be backed with funds to strengthen the squad in January, with Yeremy Pino, Mykhaylo Mudryk and a midfielder among the key targets.

While Mudryk’s price may prove beyond reach after Shakhtar Donetsk slapped a €100 million tag, Arsenal might go in for a cheaper option. Hence, the €20 million-rated Isaksen may prove a good addition, although there could be doubts over his integration into the Premier League.

For now, the reports of their interest could be rather weak, but that could change as the January transfer window inches closer. A decision will also depend on Isaksen, who might evaluate options before making a choice. Regular game time could be a factor, but joining a side like Arsenal or Newcastle United could also aid his development further at the highest level.
