Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, a target for Chelsea and Tottenham, next summer.

According to a report from Inter Live, Newcastle United are looking to sign Lautaro Martinez in the summer. The Magpies will look to offer the Argentine forward wages of around €14 million per year which is double of what he is currently earning at Inter Milan. The striker is also a target for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old has been a key player for Inter Milan, and his departure would come as a major blow for the Nerazzurri. He has scored seven goals across all competitions this season.

Newcastle are currently the richest club in the world following their takeover last year. They have an ambitious project and are looking to build a formidable squad in the coming years. It appears that the Tyneside outfit have identified Martinez as a key target. And it will be interesting to see whether they can convince Inter Milan to sell their prized forward in the coming months.

The report claims that Martinez might not be keen on the idea of joining Newcastle, just yet. But the Magpies are on the rise, and they could return to their former glories soon.

Martinez currently earns €7 million per year, and Newcastle’s potential €14 million-a-year offer to move to the Premier League could be tempting. There is no doubt that they have the resources to convince Inter Milan as well.

It will be interesting to see whether the Magpies come forward with a concrete offer in the coming months now. Newcastle have already added several quality players to their roster in recent windows. They signed Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad to improve their attack recently.

The Tyneside outfit have also improved their midfield and defence with quality signings like Bruno Guimaraes, and Sven Botman. There is certainly no shortage of resources at Newcastle right now. And signing a player like Martinez would send out a strong message regarding their ambitions.

Meanwhile, the Argentine international is thought to be a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea as well. Chelsea are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, and Martinez would be a quality acquisition. They have the resources and can offer him Champions League football as well.

On the other hand, Antonio Conte is looking to add more depth to his side. And his previous working relationship with the player could give Tottenham an edge in the transfer chase. But it will be interesting to see if Newcastle’s €14 million-a-year offer takes Martinez away from Chelsea and Tottenham.
