Paris Saint-Germain have made the first move for Endrick after lodging a €20 million bid for the Palmeiras teenager.

According to Sport, Paris Saint-Germain have made the first move towards bringing Endrick to Europe. The French giants reportedly lodged a €20 million bid to prise the Palmeiras prodigy away, but it probably won’t be enough. There’s also heavy interest from Premier League sides, making it a tough battle for the teenager.

Endrick is making a name in Brazil, despite only playing limited minutes in the Palmeiras first team. The 16-year-old Brazilian prodigy has aroused the interest of many top sides in Europe who are keeping close tabs on his development.

His performances for the youth-level teams have ensured a call-up to the Palmeiras senior squad. So far, he has played limited minutes, but there’s a belief he will go on to become a big star at the club. At the same time, Brazilian rules prohibit players from leaving before they turn 18. Yet, top European sides are making headway in securing his signature early and bringing him in when he comes of age.

Arsenal have been credited with interest recently. Barcelona and Real Madrid were the early pacesetters and are now joined by Paris Saint-Germain in the hunt. The French giants have reportedly made a €20 million bid to tempt Palmeiras into a sale, but it may not be enough.

Palmeiras are positioned to demand a higher fee for a player seemingly destined for the top. They know of the heavy interest, including from clubs like Manchester United. Hence, accepting a low bid from PSG may not appeal to them at the moment.

However, the proposal gives PSG a headstart in the chase, as it could pressurise other clubs into making their stance clearer. If no other side comes up with a proposal, it could allow the French side more room in negotiations.

There’s plenty of time on Palmeiras’ hands to wait on offers for the 16-year-old. For now, PSG may feel they are in the driving seat, but with other clubs lurking, they may not be in the position for longer.
