La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot next summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Diogo Dalot is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions want to sign the Manchester United defender in the 2023 summer transfer window. Joao Cancelo and Reece James are also on Los Blancos’ radar.

Diogo Dalot took some time to get going at Manchester United. But he has not looked back since becoming the first-choice right-back for the Red Devils in the second half of the 2021/22 season. The 23-year-old has featured in every game for Manchester United this season, chipping in with two assists.

But the Portuguese international is in the final year of his contract, although Manchester United will likely trigger the one-year option in his deal. In addition, the Red Devils also want to secure his long-term future. But Dalot’s performances have captured the attention of several European bigwigs, including Real Madrid.

Dani Caravajal remains the first-choice right-back for Real Madrid. But the Spaniard has been blowing hot and cold in the last few seasons, thus compelling Los Blancos to scour the market for a solution. Several players have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s radar over a possible move next summer.

Joao Cancelo is Real Madrid’s top priority to bolster the right-back slot. But Manchester City will fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the Portuguese international. Reece James is another target for the reigning La Liga champions. However, the Englishman recently signed a long-term deal with Chelsea.

So Dalot might be Real Madrid’s best bet to bolster the right-back slot in the 2023 summer transfer window. However, with Manchester United keen to hand him a new contract, Real Madrid will have an uphill task pursuing the Portuguese defender. In addition, recent reports have claimed that the 23-year-old wants to remain at Old Trafford.
