Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation of Weston McKennie at Serie A club Juventus as they look for potential reinforcements.

As per Italian outlet Calciomercato, Tottenham have set their sights on Weston McKennis and could launch a swoop in January. Antonio Conte wants to raid his former club as Spurs continue to build their squad.

McKennie has failed to nail down a permanent spot since joining Juventus. And the 24-year-old midfielder could find a way out of the Serie A club to revive his career. Conte already brought in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from the Bianconeri, and the USMNT international could be the third entrant in North London.

There has been significant room for improvement as Juventus parted ways with both Arthur Melo and Denis Zakaria this summer. The Bianconeri roped in Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain, but McKennie has failed to perform which has led to a dilemma at the Serie A club.

The 24-year-old does have more time to impress his current employer. But if he fails to push the limit, Juventus will entertain any offer that arrives in January. It is believed a fee in the region of €20 million should be sufficient to convince the Serie A giants.

Tottenham’s North London rival Arsenal have also opened their path for a possible move. A potential swap deal with Albert Sambi Lokonga has been discussed, as Massimiliano Allegri wants to add some more muscle and dynamism to his midfield unit.

Conte does have a plethora of midfielders at his disposal. But with Yves Bissouma struggling, the Italian manager is planning to add some more reinforcements to the Tottenham squad. McKennie will likely travel to the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the USMNT, and his performance might put Juventus in a very strong position to negotiate.

He has a lengthy contract as it stands, but the Serie A giants would struggle to get some potential value for the player as things stand. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a strict negotiator, and he will be putting some strong objections to Juventus’s valuation.

The Bianconeri have struggled to get back into the rhythm. And the January transfer window might be the last opportunity for Allegri to get some top both talents to the club. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham act on their interest in the 24-year-old this winter.
