Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing 24-year-old American midfielder Weston McKennie from Serie A giants Juventus. 

According to a report from Calciomercato, Weston McKennie could be on his way out of Juventus in the January transfer window. The 24-year-old has been liked by Tottenham for a while now. 

Spurs have been linked with a number of midfielders in recent months, including McKennie. Antonio Conte is thought to be looking to bring in more quality and depth in the middle of the park. And McKennie could prove to be a quality addition. 

The 24-year-old has not been able to live up to the expectations since moving to Turin. And Serie A giants Juventus are prepared to sell him in January. 

Antonio Conte has quality midfielders like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur at his disposal. But Tottenham could use someone who can drive the team forward. McKennie is a box-to-box midfielder who will add a new dimension to Conte’s midfield unit. 

Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte have impressive connections at the Serie A club. And they should be able to negotiate a transfer for the 24-year-old midfielder.

Tottenham have made an impressive start to the season under Antonio Conte, and they are very much in the title race. A couple of intelligent additions in January can improve them considerably and help push the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City for the title.

Tottenham backed Conte during the summer transfer window. And the Italian tactician will be hoping for a similar support in the transfer market when the window reopens in January. They were linked with a number of creative midfielders during the summer transfer window, and it remains to be seen whether Conte can add some creativity to his side.

As far as McKennie is considered, the 24-year-old was highly regarded before his move to Juventus. And he has the potential to develop into a quality player in the future if he leaves the Serie A giants. The American is still quite young and he has a lot of time to full his potential. Working with a manager like Conte at Tottenham could help him develop further.
