Crystal Palace are reportedly planning a double transfer raid on Championship outfit Bristol City for Antoine Semenyo and Tommy Conway.

According to Football League World, Crystal Palace are weighing up a double swoop for Bristol City’s young attacking duo of Tommy Conway and Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window as the Eagles continue to build a squad for the future.

Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman has had a lot of success in bringing in players after impressing in the Championship in recent seasons. Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise have excelled under Patrick Vieira’s watch after joining from Queens Park Rangers and Reading, respectively.

The Eagles also rolled the dice on Marc Guehi after he excelled in the Championship on loan with Swansea City. And the Englishman has cemented himself as a mainstay in Patrick Viera’s side since moving to Selhurst Park. In addition, summer signing from Derby County, Malcolm Ebiowei is also knocking on the doors, demonstrating that there is a lot of quality to be unearthed in the Championship.

And it seems the south London club are looking for a repeat of some previous transfer masterclasses in the near future. According to the report from FLW, Crystal Palace are looking to reignite their interest in Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo.

Ghana star Semenyo, 22, was subject to much speculation about a possible departure this past summer. But he ended up staying at Ashton Gate, where he bagged 20 goal contributions last season. He has also impressed this term, with three goals from 10 Championship outings so far.

Tall, athletic, and full of tricks, Semenyo is a striker who can easily go past his marker and has been likened to Wilfried Zaha as he also possesses the creativity to go alongside his goalscoring exploits. Semenyo’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2023, although the Robins do have the option to extend it for another year in order for them to still command a transfer fee for their prized asset.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are keen on his teammate Tommy Conway as well, although he is anticipated to be loaned back to Bristol so that he can continue his progress by receiving regular playing time under his belt if the move is completed.

Still only 20 years old, Conway is enjoying a stellar breakout season at Ashton Gate, boasting seven goals and three assists in 17 games across all competitions under Nigel Pearson. Unlike Semenyo, he would not be easy to get as he still has three years left to run on his current deal.

Both the players fit very well into the new-look Crystal Palace’s recruitment blueprint. And the Eagles could look to raid Bristol City for their attacking duo in the upcoming January transfer window.
