Chelsea ready to pay over €100 million to sign Jude Bellingham

Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay over €100 million to sign Jude Bellingham, a target for Real Madrid, in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from German publication Sport Bild, Chelsea have joined a host of clubs looking to sign Jude Bellingham next summer. The Blues are prepared to pay more than €100 million for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

Real Madrid are keen on securing his services as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.

Chelsea can certainly use a quality central midfielder, with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante on the wrong side of 30 and in the final years of their contracts. Bellingham is widely regarded as a world-class talent and has proven his quality in the Bundesliga as well as at the international level with England.

The 19-year-old has a massive future ahead of him, and moving to Chelsea would be a coup for the west Londoners. Apparently, the player is valued at well over €100 million, and it will be interesting to see if the Blues can agree on a deal with Dortmund for their prized asset.

Chelsea have been ambitious in the transfer market since the ownership change. And Todd Boehly will want to continue to reinforce the Chelsea squad in the upcoming windows. Signing someone like Bellingham could futureproof their midfield unit.

The young midfielder has been linked with a return to English football ever since he moved to Germany. And it will be interesting to see if he decides to join a Premier League club this summer. Liverpool are thought to be keen on securing his services as well. But recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid are confident of signing the teenage prodigy.

Bellingham will hope to join a club capable of winning major trophies, and Chelsea certainly have the squad to dominate English football in the years to come.
