French champions PSG reportedly want to sign Mohamed Salah in a swap deal involving wantaway attacker Kylian Mbappe.
According to Egyptian journalist Ismael Mahmoud, Paris Saint-Germain will look to replace Kylian Mbappe by signing Mohamed Salah from Liverpool. The Ligue 1 champions want to engineer a swap deal involving the two attackers, with the Frenchman keen on departing from Parc des Princes.
Kylian Mbappe has become increasingly unsettled at Paris Saint-Germain mere months after choosing to snub Real Madrid to sign a bumper new contract with Les Parisiens. The 23-year-old has earned fierce criticism for his attitude on and off the pitch. And with his bid to get Neymar off the books at PSG failing, things have gone from bad to worse.
Recent reports have claimed that he desperately wants to leave PSG in the January transfer window. In addition, Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos might also leave amid the increasingly unsettling nature of the dressing room. And the Ligue 1 champions want to bring over a Liverpool attacker to Parc des Princes to replace Mbappe.
Mohamed Salah is the subject of interest from Les Parisiens over a possible swap deal involving Mbappe. And with the Egyptian attacker struggling to make his mark at Anfield this season, leaving Liverpool to join PSG might be what he needs. Liverpool, in turn, will get a top-class forward like Mbappe.

Recent reports have handed Liverpool a boost in the race to sign Mbappe, with PSG unwilling to sell him to Real Madrid. Interestingly, the reigning La Liga champions do not want to sign the 23-year-old this winter anyway. As for a possible swap deal, Liverpool can potentially benefit more from the operation.
But Mbappe’s petulant attitude can disrupt the dressing room, while his astronomical wages do not fit in Liverpool’s structure. Meanwhile, Salah has been underwhelming this season, with his hat-trick against Rangers his first notable performance of the season. So PSG might be taking a risk if they sign the Liverpool talisman.
The mere suggestion of a swap deal seems preposterous, and it seems unlikely it will go through. But stranger things have happened in the transfer market. So it will be interesting to see if PSG and Liverpool shake hands on a swap deal involving Salah and the wantaway Mbappe.
