Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is reportedly uninterested in joining PSG if he departs from Stamford Bridge.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on securing the services of N’Golo Kante. However, a report from Foot Mercato claims that the Chelsea midfielder is not keen on moving to the French capital and wants to stay in London.

The 31-year-old Frenchman will be a free agent at the end of the season, and Chelsea have not shown any willingness to extend his contract. PSG have tried to convince Kante to move to Parc des Princes multiple times, but the player is simply not keen.

The report further adds that Arsenal and Tottenham could be two potential options for the Chelsea midfielder. But it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Kante has been one of the best defensive midfielders of his generation. And he has helped Chelsea win major trophies like the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Premier League. Furthermore, he helped France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

A player of his calibre would be an exceptional acquisition, even if it is for the short term. Kante is no longer the player he used to be and has regressed over the past year. However, his experience and winning mentality could be priceless for any club.

It will be interesting to see if the Chelsea midfielder can get over his persistent injury problems in the coming months. He has played just twice in all competitions this season, and it is perfectly understandable why the Blues are open to parting ways with their star midfielder.

Kante is on wages of around €10 million-a-season and has not been able to play regularly because of constant injury issues. It makes sense for Chelsea to get rid of the player upon the expiry of his contract and invest in a young player who can serve the club for the years to come.

The French midfielder could be available for a nominal price during the January transfer window because of his contract situation. It is highly unlikely that Chelsea will turn down the opportunity to recoup some money for him especially when he can leave for free next summer.

It remains to be seen whether his suitors, especially PSG, are willing to come forward with a concrete offer during the winter transfer window. But with Kante uninterested in joining PSG, a summer move elsewhere might be a likelier scenario.
