Galatasaray are ready to pull off their biggest transfer heist as they are prepared to offer Cristiano Ronaldo an escape route from Manchester United.

According to a report by Turkish outlet Fotomac, Cristiano Ronaldo is wanted by Turkish giants Galatasaray, and they are gearing up to welcome the Manchester United forward with a grand event. The Portuguese international has not had many chances to showcase his skills and is ready to ponder a future away from Old Trafford.

Galatasaray do have a pretty envious squad as far as the quality of football is concerned. And Ronaldo could be united with his former Manchester United teammate Juan Mata, who joined the club on a free transfer.

Ronaldo’s priority has always been competing in the UEFA Champions League, and he has never been involved in the Europa League before this season. But Galatasaray finished 13th last season and won’t be able to offer him any kind of European football.

As per Turkish publication Fotomac, owner Erden Timur is personally overseeing this transfer saga and has been in touch with Ronaldo’s entourage over a potential deal. His wages should not be a problem as the Turkish giants have the financial means to afford his huge pay packages.

Ronaldo has been sparingly used in the Premier League but has emerged as the preferred choice in the Europa League. The 37-year-old produced a horrific performance against Omonia Nicosia and struggled to convert even the simplest of chances. Despite enjoying his prime years with utter confidence, age has caught up, and the player should also be aware of it.

Manchester United were dealt a severe blow at the hands of Manchester City as they were thrashed haplessly, with Ronaldo being an unused substitute. The Red Devils then survived a late scare as they came back from behind to register their second Europa League win, beating Omonia in Cyprus.

Ronaldo will certainly look for some respite due to his inconsistent game time, but his growing age and fading skills will be a matter of concern. A move to Major League Soccer might be perfect for the player, but he reportedly wants to be involved in competitive football as long as he can.
