Serie A heavyweights AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are all keeping tabs on Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.

According to Tutto Juve, three Italian clubs, namely, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are all interested in securing the services of Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante.

The Frenchman has been one of the best players in the Premier League over the past few years and played a pivotal role in both Chelsea and France’s successes. A defensive colossus, he is a difficult player to get the better of and makes use of his excellent positioning and intelligence to drive home his side’s advantage.

Kante has struggled with injuries over the last two years and, at 31, isn’t getting any younger. With Chelsea set for a rebuild, time might be rife for both parties to go their separate ways. The player will not be short of options given the interest from Italy.

Juventus, in particular, require a midfield general. The Bianconeri parted ways with Denis Zakaria and Arthur Melo, both on loan this summer and are yet to see a returning Paul Pogba take to the field again. Manuel Locatelli has been underwhelming since joining the club from Sassuolo in 2021, and his days in Turin might now be numbered.

The 24-year-old is not in Massimiliano Allegri’s good graces and is also attracting attention from a resurgent Arsenal. With a move to the Premier League potentially on the cards, Juventus are seeking to bring in a player who can not just address the shortfall in midfield but also lend their side balance.

It also presents the Bianconeri with the golden opportunity to pair together France’s 2018 World Cup winning duo at the heart of the midfield. Pogba and Kante have a good understanding of each other’s game and could help revive a Juventus side that has fallen off the summit in recent years.

However, Inter Milan and AC Milan are also both in the fray and could play spoilsport. The Milan giants are both ahead of Juventus in Italian football’s pecking order at this moment and will need to reinforce their squad to hold onto the advantage.

Inter have struggles of their own and have already fallen away in the Scudetto race. Marcelo Brozovic’s poor form, coupled with Nicolo Barella’s inconsistency has left the Nerazzurri midfield open for plundering, and their opponents have made merry. With Simone Inzaghi unlikely to tinker with his 3-5-2 formation, it makes sense to bring in Kante and add steel to the roster.

Milan are in a better position and could once again end the season at the top of the standings, Stefano Pioli’s side could do with some addition in the defensive midfielder’s role and playing alongside Kante could help the likes of Sandro Tonali also up their game.

For the Chelsea star, however, a move to Italy could give his career a second wind. The Italian top-flight is not as physical as its English counterpart, and Kante will also benefit from the slow nature of the game. The Frenchman still has a few years left in him and could very well rekindle his legend, this time in Serie A.
