Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton will go up against each other in their pursuit of Sasa Kalajdzic this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League trio of Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton are keeping tabs on VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic as the summer transfer window enters its final weeks.

The Red Devils failed to replace Edinson Cavani this summer and have also seen an in-form Anthony Martial suffer an injury. This leaves an unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo as their first-choice striker heading into the 2022/23 campaign. The lack of alternatives was apparent earlier today as Christian Eriksen started upfront in their Premier League opener against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Erik ten Hag’s side crafted opportunities, but the lack of a difference maker in the box was apparent. A striker is on the agenda at Old Trafford, and the latest name on the list is that of Stuttgart ace Sasa Kalajdzic.

The 6ft 7in colossus is available for around £15 million and has the traits needed to function as a target man upfront. A clinical player, the 25-year-old could thrive in the Premier League with the right guidance.

Manchester United will, however, not have it easy with both Chelsea and Everton also in the fray. The Blues have loaned out Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, while Timo Werner is also on his way back to RB Leipzig. This leaves Thomas Tuchel with just Michy Batshuayi and Armando Broja to use as strikers.

The former has largely flattered to impress at Stamford Bridge and is likely to be on his way out, while the latter is not yet proven and could depart as well. Kai Havertz can also play up front, but he is far from clinical enough to make a difference for the Blues. It has seen them consider a move for Kalajdzic.

Everton are also in need of a striker following the departure of Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin also injured, Frank Lampard lacks a recognizable goalscorer up front. Anthony Gordon shows plenty of spirit, but he is far from a prolific goalscorer who can lead the line week in, week out for a Premier League side.

The first weekend of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign outlined once again how all three sides need an infallible goalscorer. Manchester United only got on the scoresheet thanks to an own goal, while Everton drew a blank. Chelsea came away with all three points but failed to find the net from open play.

Kalajdzic will be an excellent addition to any of the aforementioned sides. Who eventually lands him this summer remains to be seen. The transfer could prove invaluable come the end of the campaign.
