Barcelona reportedly offered Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Chelsea this summer during their recent talks.
According to a report by London Evening Standard, Barcelona offered Chelsea the opportunity to secure the services of Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a triple deal during the recent meeting between the two clubs.
Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay are known to be facing uncertain futures at Camp Nou, with Barcelona ready to part ways with the Dutch duo, even though they do not want to leave. Recent reports have also pointed towards Chelsea’s interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the Blues already contacting the former Arsenal captain’s representatives.
The Barcelona trio should be solid additions for Chelsea, considering Todd Boehly is frantically trying to complete Thomas Tuchel’s squad. After all, the west Londoners are famously in the market for attacking and midfield reinforcements amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of a few players.
Romelu Lukaku has departed from Stamford Bridge to rejoin Inter Milan on loan, with Chelsea yet to bring in a replacement for the Belgian international. In addition, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech might leave Chelsea this summer, thus accentuating the need to bring in two attackers.
Aubameyang has thus emerged as a viable target for Chelsea, although the Gabonese international does not want to leave Barcelona to join the west London club. Meanwhile, Depay is negotiating his exit from Barcelona amid interest from Chelsea and Juventus, among other European bigwigs.
The Dutch attacker will be an ideal replacement for Werner, considering his versatility in the final third. Finally, de Jong could be the prized signing for Chelsea if the Blues take up Barcelona’s offer to sign the trio of players. Recent reports have billed Chelsea as the favourite to sign the Barcelona midfielder.

But de Jong is firm on his stance to remain at Camp Nou. And with Aubameyang also reluctant to leave Barcelona, Chelsea will have an uphill task convincing each of the Barcelona trio to move to Stamford Bridge. For now, the three players have emerged as candidates to reinforce Thomas Tuchel’s squad, with the west Londoners desperately searching for the ideal options to bolster the first-team setup.
