Veteran Brazilian goalkeeper Neto is reportedly on the verge of ending his stint with Barcelona by joining newly-promoted Premier League club Bournemouth.

Reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has given his famous “Here We Go” for Neto and his next destination. The out-of-favour Barcelona goalkeeper is on the cusp of ending his spell at Camp Nou by joining newly-promoted Premier League club Bournemouth and will complete his medical this week.

Neto has been a frustrated figure at Camp Nou since joining Barcelona from Valencia nearly three years ago. While it was obvious that the 33-year-old would be the backup for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, his exasperation has escalated with every passing season, with the veteran goalkeeper barely featuring for Barcelona.

The former Juventus shot-stopper has featured only 21 times thus far for Barcelona, keeping seven clean sheets. And as the summer transfer window moved into its final month, it became evident that Neto does not have a future at the Catalan club, with Barcelona ready to accept any amount to part ways with him.

Several clubs have shown interest in signing Neto in the last few weeks, with Girona recently submitting an enquiry to Barcelona. But the 33-year-old goalkeeper is set to join a club outside Spain, with the Premier League his next destination, where he will join Bournemouth.

The summer transfer window has been slow going for the Cherries, who have signed only three players thus far and look like prime contenders to go back down to the EFL Championship straight away. But Bournemouth might finally be jumping into the action after signing Marcus Tavernier, with Neto the next in line to arrive at the Vitality Stadium.

The newly-promoted Premier League club had been in talks with Barcelona over a move for Neto this week. And it looks like Bournemouth and Barcelona have moved quickly towards a common goal by agreeing to the transfer of Neto.

The veteran goalkeeper will undergo his medical before the end of the week, with his frustrating Barcelona spell set to culminate this summer. Neto will hope to become the first-choice goalkeeper for Bournemouth while aiding their bid to remain in the Premier League beyond the 2022/23 season.
