Chelsea are reportedly ready to splash the cash to sign Inter Milan trio Cesare Casadei, Denzel Dumfries and Milan Skriniar this summer.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are preparing to go big in their pursuit of Inter Milan trio Cesare Casadei, Denzel Dumfries and Milan Skriniar. The Blues are ready to fork out €130 million to land the three players from the Nerazzurri before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea have had a slow start to the summer window but are starting to get going of late. After signing Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly last month, the Blues confirmed the captures of youngsters Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka earlier this week. And Thomas Tuchel is now ready to splash more cash as he seeks to strengthen his squad sufficiently.
It is no top secret that Chelsea are looking to add at least another centre-back this summer. Having faced multiple setbacks in their attempts to do so, they are looking at Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana as an option while Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan is also a name under consideration.
The Slovakian was on Chelsea’s radar in the past, but the Blues ended their interest after it appeared that he was set to join PSG. However, with his move to France collapsing, Skriniar is back on the agenda at Stamford Bridge. The report states that Chelsea are willing to spend €81 million to land the 27-year-old Inter Milan mainstay.
On top of that, Chelsea are also intent on signing Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan and have already had a bid rejected for the Netherlands international. With Cesar Azpilicueta’s future at Stamford Bridge uncertain, Chelsea will need another right-back to compete with Reece James. That is where Dumfries would enter the picture. And the Blues are willing to offer €41 million for the 26-year-old.
Cesare Casadei is the third Inter Milan player on the radars of Chelsea. The 19-year-old midfield prodigy looks primed for his first-team breakthrough with the Italians this season after racking up seriously impressive numbers with their Primavera outfit. It has alerted Chelsea of his potential, with the Blues now looking to add the talented midfielder to their roster.
Even though Inter Milan are demanding €20 million for Casadei, Chelsea want to offer only €8 million for his services. That, coupled with the €81 million for Skriniar and €41 million for Dumfries, would take the total to €130 million, which the Blues are ready to spend to sign all the three players from Simone Inzaghi’s side.
Inter Milan are not in the pinkest of health financially, and such a huge offer could tempt them into considering a sale. Whether Chelsea go ahead with the splurge or decide to settle on alternative targets will be interesting to see.
