Chelsea and Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing 26-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers wide man Adama Traore this summer.

According to a report by 90 min, Adama Traore wants to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers before the summer transfer window shuts down. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the situation of the 26-year-old wide man amid their respective searches for a right wing-back.

Adama Traore has been an enigma during his ongoing near-decade-long professional career. While the Spanish international is an electrifying performer on his day, he has not translated his talent into the required end product, often leaving a lot to be desired with his output in the final third.

The 26-year-old has been with Wolverhampton Wanderers since August 2018 and has produced a sub-par tally of 11 goals and 18 assists in 154 outings. A loan move to Barcelona in the second half of the 2021/22 season did not work either, and Traore has returned to the Premier League club this summer. But he wants to leave the Midlands outfit, with Chelsea and Tottenham monitoring his situation closely.

Chelsea will look to sign a wide man to compete with Reece James in the 2022/23 season amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Cesar Azpilicueta. The Chelsea captain wants to join Barcelona, with the Blaugrana attempting to secure his services in time for their campaign to begin.

The Blues have thus set their sights on several right-backs, with Denzel Dumfries one of the prime candidates to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer. Traore is also a viable target for Chelsea, who will need to fend off stiff competition to secure the services of the 26-year-old wide man.

The interest from Tottenham is surprising, considering Spurs have signed Djed Spence from Middlesbrough this summer. But Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal face uncertain futures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Antonio Conte has claimed that he did not ask the north London club to sign Spence. Traore is thus an option worth considering.

According to 90 min, Traore wants to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window by leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers. It will be interesting to see if he remains in the Premier League by joining either Chelsea or Tottenham this month.
