Out-of-favour Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite has reportedly received offers from two La Liga clubs, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.

According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, La Liga clubs Getafe and Rayo Vallecano are keen on signing Martin Braithwaite from Barcelona in the summer transfer window. The out-of-favour Barcelona forward is also considering an offer from a Saudi Arabian club amid uncertainties surrounding his future at Camp Nou.

Martin Braithwaite has been a handy squad option since joining Barcelona from Leganes as an emergency signing outside the transfer window nearly two years ago. But the Danish international has suffered a dip in stature in the last twelve months after becoming an afterthought for Xavi Hernandez.

The 31-year-old turned out only four times for Barcelona in the 2021/22 season, managing 236 minutes of game-time while scoring twice. And after Barcelona left him out of the pre-season tour to the USA, Braithwaite’s time at Camp Nou seems to be up, with his situation capturing the attention of Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.

The two La Liga clubs are in the market for a striker in the summer transfer window, with Getafe reportedly closing in on signing Borja Mayoral and Rayo Vallecano showing interest in Diego Costa. But Mayoral’s agent recently revealed that the Spanish striker wants to remain at Real Madrid beyond the summer transfer window.

Braithwaite has thus emerged as a viable alternative for Getafe, with the player’s desire to remain in La Liga handing them a boost. The same goes for Rayo Vallecano, with Braithwaite an option worth considering if the move for Diego Costa does not materialise.

But the two La Liga clubs will need to move quickly to secure the services of the out-of-favour Barcelona forward, with a Saudi Arabian club also presenting an offer to him. And Braithwaite is considering the bid from the Middle Eastern outfit while also weighing up the proposal from Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.

Meanwhile, terminating Braithwaite’s contract also remains an option for Barcelona. For now, what remains certain is that the Danish forward has no future at Camp Nou, with Barcelona keen on getting rid of him in the summer transfer window.
