Real Madrid keeping tabs on Brian Brobbey

La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the progress of 20-year-old Dutch attacking sensation Brian Brobbey.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Brian Brobbey is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. But Los Blancos will only sign the 20-year-old Ajax attacking sensation if Borja Mayoral and Mariano Diaz leave.

Brian Brobbey spent his formative years with Ajax before graduating from the Dutch club’s famed academy a couple of years ago. The young striker made his first-team debut for Ajax as an 18-year-old in October 2020 but chose to leave as a free agent to join RB Leipzig in a Bosman move last summer.

However, the move to the Bundesliga club did not work at all, with the 20-year-old barely featuring in the first half of the 2021/22 season. And Ajax brought him back to Amsterdam in the January transfer window before re-signing him permanently this summer. But despite Brobbey’s struggles, he has earned an admirer in Real Madrid.

While a summer move to Real Madrid is unlikely for Brobbey, considering he has only just rejoined Ajax, Los Blancos will closely monitor the progress of the Dutch attacking sensation in the coming season. Real Madrid would prefer not to sign any more players after Carlo Ancelotti’s recent comments.

But with Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral, and Mariano Diaz facing uncertain futures at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid might have to be ready to invest in a young striker this summer. Mayoral, in particular, looks set to join Getafe in a €10 million deal. But the Merengues will only sign another attacker if Mariano also departs.

Several strikers, including Noah Okafor, Benjamin Sesko and Sasa Kalajdzic, have thus popped up on Real Madrid’s radar. And Brobbey is another young attacking sensation that the Spanish giants are monitoring closely, although a move this summer is highly unlikely.

As far as the pursuit of Brobbey is concerned, Real Madrid will likely continue to track the progress of the 20-year-old striker. It will be interesting to see if the Ajax sensation becomes a top target for Real Madrid anytime soon.
