Serie A giants Napoli are reportedly prepared to offer €25 million to sign Albanian striker Armando Broja from Chelsea.
As reported by Calcio Napoli24, in a new twist to the Armando Broja transfer saga, Napoli are ready to pay Chelsea €25 million to secure the signing of the striker. The 20-year-old has reportedly agreed on personal terms with West Ham United, but the Hammers are yet to reach an agreement on a transfer fee with the Blues.
Broja is a Chelsea youth product but has not been able to make a breakthrough in their first team, making just one senior appearance for them. The Albanian striker was sent out on loan over the last two seasons, to Vitesse Arnhem and Southampton, respectively, where he has flourished.
For Vitesse, in the 2020/21 season, Broja scored 11 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions before he impressed for the Saints, netting nine times for them in 38 matches. The 20-year-old has now returned to Chelsea for the pre-season campaign but looks destined for an exit.
Everton were among the first clubs to show interest in the young forward, but West Ham United have recently taken the lead in the race to sign him. The Hammers are eager to add attacking reinforcements as Michail Antonio is the only recognised striker on their roster.
The David Moyes-managed side have even agreed to personal terms with the Chelsea striker, but there seems to be a new development in the saga with Napoli stepping in. The Serie A giants are prepared to offer €25 million for the Albanian international, but they are still short of West Ham’s offer.
The London outfit are reportedly offering Broja a better salary and giving better commission to his agents, which is why they are considered the favourites to complete his signature this summer. As far as Napoli are concerned, they look set to lose striker Andrea Petagna to Monza but will only sanction his sale after sealing a move for his replacement.
Broja still has four years remaining on his contract with Chelsea. It will be interesting to see what transpires in this transfer saga, with Napoli ready to push hard in the race with West Ham to sign the 20-year-old striker this summer.
