Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the capture of 18-year-old Arsenal youth prodigy Omari Hutchinson this summer.

According to The Secret Scout, Chelsea are set to pull off yet another eye-catching move in the market by acquiring the services of Omari Hutchinson. The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the most gifted players to come out of the Arsenal youth academy, and it appears he is set to join the west Londoners this summer.

Formerly of the Charlton Athletic youth academy, Hutchinson had been a part of the Arsenal youth setup since 2015. Even during his early age, the attacking midfielder had shown immense potential and was always destined for success at the highest level of football.

Although Hutchinson is yet to make his debut in professional football, he has made some positive strides in the Arsenal academy over the past couple of years. At the age of just 18, he was already plying his trade with the Arsenal reserves and is regarded as one of the most gifted prospects in the country.

Many even expected Hutchinson to earn his professional debut with Arsenal in the coming season, especially given the club’s lack of numbers in the midfield department. But it appears the 18-year-old is set for a move to Cobham, where he will become the latest addition to Chelsea’s pool of highly-gifted young players.

The Blues have indeed appeared quite active when it comes to luring young players across England this summer. Apart from Hutchinson, Chelsea are in contention to sign former Brighton & Hove Albion prodigy Zak Sturge, who is currently a free agent this summer.

Chelsea are also expected to bring in Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling in order to further enhance their numbers in the youth department. The further addition of Omari Hutchinson could hand Thomas Tuchel a series of talented options who are more than capable of making a big breakthrough in professional football in the years to come.

As for Arsenal, they will be dismayed by the departure of one of their most talented young players to a direct rival. However, the Gunners have no shortage of young talents and coach Mikel Arteta will once again be relying on the club’s prestigious youth academy to fill in some gaps, as we gear up for the season ahead.
