Takefusa Kubo has reportedly popped up on the radar of another La Liga club, with Osasuna joining the race to sign the Japanese forward.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Takefusa Kubo is the subject of interest from CA Osasuna over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Real Madrid forward also features on the radars of several other La Liga clubs, including RCD Mallorca, Real Sociedad, and Real Valladolid.

Takefusa Kubo returned to Spain by joining Real Madrid from FC Tokyo three years ago, having previously played in Barcelona’s famed academy La Masia before returning to his homeland. But the 21-year-old is yet to establish a foothold in the first-team setup, as all three non-EU spots in the Real Madrid squad are occupied at the moment. So Los Blancos cannot hand him an opportunity as things stand.

The Japanese international has instead had to bide his time, embarking on four loan spells since joining Real Madrid from FC Tokyo three years ago. Kubo’s best stints have come with RCD Mallorca, but his progress has been slow in the last couple of seasons. And with Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes yet to receive a Spanish passport, Kubo has no spot in the Real Madrid squad.

But the youngster has no shortage of suitors, with several La Liga clubs showing interest in prising him away on loan in the summer transfer window. Real Sociedad first emerged as a serious suitor for the Real Madrid forward, with La Real and Los Blancos indulging in negotiations over a loan move last month.

Since then, Kubo has popped up on the radars of several other La Liga clubs, including Real Valladolid and RCD Mallorca. And the 21-year-old has emerged as a target for CA Osasuna, with the Pamplona-based club keen on bolstering their offensive unit this summer.

Jagoba Arrasate wants to add to his squad’s offensive unit to have a better chance of retaining their La Liga status in the upcoming 2022/23 season. Kubo is thus a viable target for Osasuna. But the Real Madrid forward’s desire to play European football may rule them out of the equation.

Real Sociedad should thus be the front-runner to prise Kubo away from Real Madrid, although the negotiations between La Real and Real Madrid have slowed down. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Kubo as we move forward in the summer transfer window.
