Chelsea have been handed a major boost in the pursuit of Presnel Kimpembe as PSG look to offload the defender this summer.

Presnel Kimpembe has emerged as one of the top targets for Chelsea this summer, as Thomas Tuchel looks to bring in defensive reinforcements in light of a slew of departures. And according to Fichajes, the Premier League giants have been given a major boost in their pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain starlet.

It appears the Ligue 1 giants are ready to listen to offers for Kimpembe this summer. They want to offload the defender as part of Luis Campos’ plans to make way for Milan Skriniar. The Inter Milan centre-back, who had emerged as a target for Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham earlier this summer, looks set to join PSG ahead of the new season.

Skriniar’s potential arrival in the French capital should pave the way for Kimpembe to leave the club in favour of a new adventure elsewhere. The club, after all, are willing to take another punt on the experienced Sergio Ramos, who is coming on the back of a dreadful debut campaign in Ligue 1.

With Kimpembe set to be axed by the new management, the door has opened for him to join Chelsea. As per the report, PSG value the French international at around €50 million, keeping in mind his two-year contract remaining in Paris, along with the vast experience he offers to the table.

Having featured in over 150 Ligue 1 matches for PSG, Kimpembe indeed has years of experience at the highest level of football. It is combined with his aggression and dogged defensive qualities that make him a tailor-made mid for the physical nature of the Premier League.

It also makes him an ideal target for Chelsea, who are looking for a viable long-term replacement for Antonio Rudiger. The German international has joined Real Madrid on a free transfer, with Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta and even Marcos Alonso also subjected to a move to La Liga in the recent weeks.

Their exit should create a massive void in the defensive unit, and that is where Kimpembe comes into the fray. The Frenchman could be an ideal replacement for Rudiger on the left hand side of the back three, although Tuchel is also keeping tabs on his desired target in Matthijs de Ligt.

Curiously, Juventus themselves are among the clubs interested in Kimpembe as they consider him an ideal replacement for de Ligt. Hence, we could be in for a transfer merry-go-round as Chelsea look to land their top defensive targets in the coming weeks.
