Hakim Ziyech is reportedly keen on joining AC Milan, as interest in the Chelsea star continues to mount, particularly from Serie A.

According to Nathan Gissing, AC Milan seem to have become the front-runners to sign Hakim Ziytech, with the attacker keen on joining the Serie A champions in the summer transfer window. However, there is considerable interest in the Moroccan from the Premier League and La Liga, with Chelsea open to letting him leave.

Hakim Ziyech was primed for big things after moving to Chelsea from Ajax in a €40 million move. The Moroccan international put in some important performances at the club, but he has not suited Thomas Tuchel’s system.

Moreover, during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge, Ziyech has never cemented a starting position in either Tuchel’s or Frank Lampard’s sides. Hence, Chelsea have decided Ziyech is dispensable if the right offer comes in during the summer transfer window. How much the Blues would demand from interested parties is unclear, but he could be inching closer to a departure.

AC Milan have been interested in the Moroccan forward for some time now and are the front-runners for his signature. However, whether they could put together a package of Chelsea’s liking remains to be seen, considering the Serie A champions have been reluctant to pay reasonable fees.

Adding the pressure to make their move, AC Milan would be aware of interest from local rivals Inter Milan in Ziyech. The Nerazzurri have reportedly recently concluded a deal with Chelsea to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club on loan. The deal may have improved their relationship, which could materialise in the transfer of the Moroccan forward.

However, Ziyech is reportedly keen on joining AC Milan. The reasons for his attraction remain unknown, although it could be their recently acquired Serie A title. The Chelsea forward could look to improve his game in Italy after finding it hard to get going in England.

Clubs in England are also keen on signing the attacker, although the lure of joining AC Milan could prove enough for him to make a final decision. The transfer will largely depend on Chelsea’s asking price and Milan’s ability to pay.
