Premier League sides Everton and West Ham United are reportedly keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

According to 90 min, Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain just a year after joining them. The Netherlands international joined the Ligue 1 giants on a free transfer from Liverpool but has failed to make an impact and could now depart from Parc des Princes.

Wijnaldum was set to become a midfield mainstay at PSG as the club pushed to win an elusive UEFA Champions League title. He joined the club alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but they were knocked out in the Round of 16 by eventual champions Real Madrid.

The 31-year-old made 38 appearances across all competitions for PSG in the 2021/22 campaign. But Wijnaldum made just 18 league starts, scoring one goal and providing three assists. He still has two years left on his contract with PSG, but they are now ready to let him leave this summer.

Les Parisiens look set to sign Renato Sanches from Lille this summer, and the Portuguese international’s arrival will allow Wijnaldum to move to greener pastures. PSG wish to sell him permanently, but there is a chance that they could let him leave temporarily this summer, given he still has two years left on his contract.

There are enough clubs interested in the Dutchman, so finding a new team should not be a problem for him. Leicester City, West Ham United, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all said to be keeping tabs, so a return to the Premier League looks likely.

His former clubs Liverpool and Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation, but neither of them have made an official approach. Arsenal were also linked with a move for Wijnaldum  in the January transfer window. Italian and German outfits are showing interest as well, so a summer move for Wijnaldum looks on the cards.

But Everton and West Ham could fancy their chances, even though the history with Liverpool means the former will have an uphill task in his pursuit. Wijnaldum has ample Premier League experience, having played 217 matches in the English top-flight for Liverpool and Newcastle. Thus, he could be more inclined towards a return to England.
