Barcelona will reportedly compete with Juventus and Atletico Madrid in the pursuit of Nahuel Molina, valued at €30 million by Udinese.
According to Italian publication Tuttosport, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Nahuel Molina is the subject of interest from Barcelona over a possible move in the summer transfer window. Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the Argentine international, valued at €30 million by Udinese.
Nahuel Molina spent his formative years in his homeland Argentina, making his first-team debut for Boca Juniors as a 17-year-old in February 2016. The 24-year-old has since come leaps and bounds, particularly following his move to Udinese in September 2020.
The Argentine international enjoyed a solid 2021/22 campaign, amassing eight goals and five assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. And Molina’s exploits have captured the attention of some of the most high-profile clubs across Europe, including Barcelona.
Barcelona’s right-back situation is increasingly uncertain, with veteran defender Dani Alves yet to receive a contract extension offer. At the same time, Sergino Dest’s future is up in the air after failing to convince Xavi Hernandez that he should have a long-term future at Camp Nou.
As a result, several right-backs have popped up on Barcelona’s radar, with Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta linked most heavily with them. But the Blues are eager to keep hold of the Spanish international beyond the summer transfer window, forcing Barcelona to consider alternatives in the summer transfer window.
To that end, Pedro Porro and Dodo are among the players to have emerged as targets for Barcelona, with Molina also a viable candidate to bolster the right-back berth. The Argentine international is valued at around €30 million by Udinese, and it is unclear if Barcelona can afford to pay the asking price amid their ongoing financial crisis.
But Barcelona will have to fend off stiff competition from Juventus and Atletico Madrid to land the 24-year-old in the summer transfer window. It will also be interesting to see if the Catalan giants are ready to fork out €30 million to secure the services of the Argentine international, who seems set to leave Udinese after two years at the Dacia Arena.
