Arsenal are interested in West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen and have reportedly opened discussions with his representatives.

According to The Beautiful Game podcast, Arsenal are targeting West Ham United talisman Jarrod Bowen and have held discussions with his representatives over a possible move in the summer. Manager Mikel Arteta is seeking a wide forward, and the England star could be a terrific addition.

Arteta is heavily involved in the search for attackers in the ongoing transfer window. Arsenal are looking to strengthen the squad as the rebuild continues significantly. The board is reportedly ready to back the manager with significant funds as the Gunners continue to explore multiple options.

A striker is a priority signing for Arteta, but the Spaniard is also keen on bringing in wide attackers. Plenty of players with different styles have seen their names mentioned. Earlier, Arsenal were seeking someone for the left side, but in recent weeks their focus seems to have shifted to the opposite flank.

While the links to Serge Gnabry have died down, recent stories about their interest in Raphinha have grown in importance. Arsenal are actively looking for a statement signing on the right side of the attack as Arteta wants an option to compete with his other wide stars, especially with Nicolas Pepe likely to be sold in the summer.

Arteta is preparing the squad for European football next season and wants to build a team capable of competing with Liverpool and Manchester City. Their main aim will be to finish in the top four, and to achieve those targets; he would need a big enough squad. Signing someone of proven quality would improve their chances significantly, with Jarrod Bowen now emerging as a target.

Bowen had another brilliant season at West Ham, finishing as their top scorer. The England international’s goalscoring prowess has been on display over the past couple of seasons, as he continues to grab the attention of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, with Arsenal now joining in the hunt. The report insists that contacts have been initiated with the attacker’s representatives.

West Ham, though, are not planning to sell the attacker. However, given the rising interest in the 25-year-old and the ability of the clubs to shell out a big fee for the winger, things could change in the coming weeks.

Bowen is a player who can occupy multiple positions for Arsenal, as he could slot in on the right side or even operate centrally. He has the potential to be a top addition for the Gunners, although any move would be difficult given West Ham’s stance.

Arteta has constantly hinted at Arsenal’s willingness to spend heavily if needed. They shelled out £50 million on Ben White last summer and could do so again to land their target, but Bowen could cost significantly higher.
