Chelsea and PSG are reportedly ready to shell out a sum of €75 million in order to secure the signing of Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison.
According to Fichajes, Everton attacker Richarlison is attracting serious interest from top clubs within England and Europe this summer window. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are two teams that have emerged as the strongest suitors for the Brazilian and are prepared to splash €75 million for his signing.
Richarlison has been with Everton since 2018, when he arrived from Watford. During his four years at Goodison Park, the 25-year-old has grown into a vital cog in the side, racking up 152 appearances in which he has 53 goals and 14 assists. The forward was critical to the Toffees avoiding relegation in the 2021/22 campaign as he netted ten goals in 30 Premier League outings.
However, Richarlison could be on his way out this summer in search of greener pastures. And there is no shortage of interest in the Brazilian international as the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked, with Chelsea also entering the fray, while PSG are also in the hunt for the 25-year-old’s signing.
But, Richarlison is unwilling to move to Arsenal, while Chelsea and PSG are ready to go big in their pursuit of the former Watford ace by shelling out €75 million to secure his signing this summer.
Chelsea are on the lookout for fresh attackers as Thomas Tuchel looks to freshen up his roster with the funds from the club’s new owners. Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic are some players who could be shown the exit doors at Stamford Bridge this summer, leaving the door open for new faces to arrive.
Richarlison, given his proven pedigree in the Premier League, and the ability to slot in anywhere across the frontline, makes him a viable option for Chelsea.
Paris Saint-Germain had been heavily linked with Richarlison in the recent past as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe. However, since then, they have managed to tie down the French superstar to a new contract. Despite that, the French champions are looking for new additions to their attacking roster in light of the departure of Angel Di Maria, who could join Barcelona on a free transfer.
At the same time, there have been reports that PSG could be willing to entertain offers for Neymar this summer. In such an eventuality, adding a player of Richarlison’s talent and calibre would make sense for the Parisian outfit as they look to achieve glory on the continental stages.
Richarlison’s contract with Everton runs until the summer of 2024. A fee of €75 million will certainly be hard to turn down for the Toffees should Chelsea and PSG decide to firm up their interest in the Brazilian international.
