Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has reportedly offered the Real Madrid forward to Atletico Madrid over a possible Bosman move this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet COPE, Jonathan Barnett, Gareth Bale’s agent, recently met Atletico Madrid to offer the Real Madrid forward to them over a possible Bosman move in the summer transfer window. But Los Rojiblancos are not interested in bringing the Welshman to the Wanda Metropolitano.

Gareth Bale has endured a dramatic fall from grace at Real Madrid in the last few years. The Welsh international joined Los Blancos amid much fanfare and enjoyed countless memorable moments, particularly in the UEFA Champions League. But his stock has plummeted since Zinedine Zidane took charge of the Spanish club for a second time three years ago.

The 32-year-old has endured a forgettable 2021/22 campaign, garnering just 290 minutes of game-time across seven appearances this term, with Carlo Ancelotti refusing to utilise him. But Bale’s frustrating spell with Real Madrid will end in the summer transfer window, with his contract set to run out next month.

While his next destination remains unknown, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett took the liberty to offer the Real Madrid forward to Atletico Madrid. Barnett recently met Los Rojiblancos, with the two parties discussing a possible Bosman move in the summer transfer window.

With Luis Suarez playing his final game for Atletico Madrid, the Colchoneros will delve into the market for an attacking reinforcement in the summer transfer window. While Bale has primarily played as a wide attacker for Real Madrid, he can play through the middle, doing so several times for the Welsh national side.

But Atletico Madrid will not pursue a move for the 32-year-old, leaving him in limbo ahead of becoming a free agent next month. Such a development contradicts recent reports, which had suggested that Atletico Madrid showed an interest in the Real Madrid forward.

A move back to Britain could be on the cards for Bale, with former club Southampton and Cardiff City recently expressing an interest in him. The Real Madrid forward has also been linked with a possible move to the MLS. But one thing that remains certain is that he will not join Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window if the claims by COPE are correct.
