Kenan Yildiz is reportedly ready to leave Bayern Munich in the summer, handing Barcelona a boost in his pursuit ahead of the summer.

According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona might have received a boost in the pursuit of Kenan Yildiz. The 16-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy is prepared to leave the Bavarian giants following the arrival of Lovro Zvonarek from Slaven Belupo.

Kenan Yildiz is widely regarded as one of the most promising young playmakers in Germany, with the teenage wonderkid going from strength to strength since joining Bayern Munich nearly a decade ago. The Turkish whizkid is currently a member of the Bayern Munich under-19 side and has enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 season.

Yildiz has a solid return of six goals and eight assists in 20 appearances thus far, and his displays have captured the attention of some of the most high profile clubs in Europe. In addition, the 16-year-old is in the final few months of his contract with Bayern Munich and could leave the Bavarian club in the summer transfer window, which has alerted Barcelona.

The interest from Barcelona is hardly surprising, considering the Catalan giants are constantly looking for the most promising youngsters across Europe and beyond to bolster the ranks at their famed academy, La Masia. Such an outlook has fetched the Blaugrana current first-team regulars like Pedri, Gavi, and Ansu Fati.

Yildiz could be the latest player to join Barcelona’s youth and reserve setup before getting fast-tracked to the first-team setup. Due to the club’s crippling financial situation, several prospects have earned their first-team bows in the last two years. And Yildiz could get his chance if he left Bayern Munich for Barcelona.

The 16-year-old Turkish prodigy can play out wide in addition to the no. 10 role, making him an attractive prospect. So he could be an option for the midfield and offensive units, meaning Xavi could fit him in his team based on his requirements.

Yildiz is now ready to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent in the summer transfer window in light of the impending arrival of Lovro Zvonarek from Slaven Belupo. Meanwhile, Yildiz is not the only Bayern Munich prodigy on Barcelona’s radar, with Gabriel Vidovic also a target for the Blaugrana. It will be interesting to see if Yildiz’s opennes to depart from the Allianz Arena results in a move to Camp Nou.
