Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the situation of Everton forward Richarlison, a summer target for Manchester United.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Richarlison will be a popular figure in the market heading into the summer transfer window. The Everton forward is a target for Manchester United, while Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring his situation.

Richarlison has been a maverick figure in the Premier League since he first arrived in England by joining Watford from Fluminense in August 2017. After an impressive campaign with the Hornets, the Brazilian forward moved to Everton and has been a key figure for the Toffees in the last four and a half years.

The 24-year-old has a solid record of 47 goals and 12 assists in 142 appearances for Everton, being one of the few players who have been consistent performers in a difficult period for the Merseyside club. But with Everton struggling to remain in the Premier League, Richarlison could call it quits at Goodison Park in the summer, with Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid hot on his tail.

The interest from Manchester United stems from the evolving situation of their attacking unit, with Edinson Cavani set to leave as a free agent in the summer transfer window. At the same time, Cristiano Ronaldo is in the twilight of his career, prompting Manchester United to scour the market for a younger alternative, especially with Mason Greenwood indefinitely suspended.

Richarlison is thus a viable target for Manchester United, although the Red Devils face competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid in his pursuit. Barcelona’s pursuit of the Everton forward makes sense, as Martin Braithwaite will likely depart from Camp Nou in search of regular game-time, while Luuk de Jong will return to Sevilla when his loan deal ends.

As for Real Madrid, with Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz struggling to feature prominently and keen on securing regular minutes, Richarlison has emerged as an option worth considering. Carlo Ancelotti is aware of the Brazilian international’s strengths and could get the best out of him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Recent reports have suggested that Everton could sell Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to balance their books amid threats of sanctions over breach of Financial Fair Play. With Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United keen on signing him, the 24-year-old will have several options to consider in the summer transfer window.
