Leicester City are interested in Chukwubuike Adamu, whom the Foxes would like to sign early in his career and aid his development in England.

According to the Daily Mail, Leicester City are keen on RB Salzburg striker Chukwubuike Adamu and could approach the Austrian side with an offer in the summer. This season, the 20-year-old has been impressing many clubs and came to the limelight after scoring against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Leicester City have struggled for relevance this season after a dismal domestic campaign, which has seen them scramble for mid-table places. Brendan Rodgers has failed to recreate the magic of the last two seasons, when the club challenged for a top-four place despite falling short in the final stages.

They were expected to do the same this season after making some impressive signings in the previous summer. The new recruit that caught the eye was Patson Daka, who was considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe, given he had successfully replaced Erling Haaland in the RB Salzburg side and produced plenty of goals during the season.

He has excelled for his first season in English football, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists across all competitions for the Foxes. While he is considered the long-term successor to veteran striker Jamie Vardy, Leicester are looking for a similar young forward in the next window.

While a striker may not be the absolute priority, wide attacking areas are considered the immediate requirement at the club. They are linked to a host of names, including Domenico Berardi and Noa Lang. Rodgers may want another young forward to bolster his ranks.

Chukwubuike Adamu, also known as Junior Adamu, is on their radar after impressing with Salzburg this season. While his record may not be as prolific as Daka’s, the 20-year-old has the potential to get to those levels.

His goal against Bayern Munich in the last 16 Champions League clash put Adamu in the spotlight as several clubs started making advances. The Austrian international has a contract until 2025, which may allow Salzburg to demand a significant sum for him.

Leicester want to develop the forward in England at a young age. Whether or not Salzburg ends up cashing in on the youngster in the upcoming summer transfer window remains to be seen.
