Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly joined Manchester United and PSG in the race to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona in the summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ronald Araujo is the subject of interest from Juventus over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Barcelona defender is also a target for Manchester United and PSG, with the Serie A giants becoming the latest club to show an interest in him.

Ronald Araujo has quickly established himself as one of the best defenders in La Liga. The 23-year-old joined Barcelona from Boston River in August 2018 and has since become the most reliable defender for the Blaugrana, producing several noteworthy performances this season.

The Uruguayan international has made 33 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona this term, chipping in with four goals in the process. But the Catalan giants are in a spot of bother over his long-term contract, with his current deal running out in a little over a year. Such a situation has captured the attention of Manchester United, PSG, and Juventus.

The interest from Manchester United stems from the underwhelming performances of Harry Maguire this season, with several pundits and fans calling for his head. In addition, with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford, signing a centre-back could become a necessity for Manchester United, making Araujo a viable target.

As for PSG, a big summer transfer window awaits them after a 2021/22 season that has left a lot to be desired. Les Parisiens are on course to make sweeping changes to the first-team squad, and signing Araujo as a long-term partner for Marquinhos makes sense. But Manchester United and PSG face stiff competition from Juventus to sign the Barcelona defender.

The Serie A giants are heavily linked with a move for Antonio Rudiger, meaning it is hard to see how they might afford Araujo. But with Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini in the twilight of their respective careers, Juventus could be forced to sign two centre-backs, making Araujo a viable target.

Talks between Barcelona and Araujo over a renewal are currently stalled, meaning Manchester United, PSG, and Juventus might fancy their chances of snapping him up. But with Barcelona keen on tying the 23-year-old down to a bumper new contract, an intriguing summer transfer window beckons the youngster.
