Senegalese striker Youssouph Cheikh Sylla has revealed that he dreams of playing for Manchester United one day.

Youssouph Cheikh Sylla has revealed in an interview with Quotidiano Sportivo that he wants to compete for Premier League giants Manchester United in the near future, and it remains to be seen whether he gets that opportunity.

“In football, I want to go as high as possible. I would like to play for Manchester United one day. You always have to believe in dreams because they help you make sacrifices.”

The striker currently plays for Perugia in the third division of Italian football. Even though he has been in impressive form for the Italian club since joining them in January, he is unlikely to get a chance in the English top flight anytime soon. At 26, there is clearly no room for massive improvement. So, his dream of playing for Manchester United is unlikely to be fulfilled.

Regardless, Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it is hardly a surprise that Sylla wants to play for them. Like him, many other footballers will harbour dreams of playing for the prestigious English club.

The striker has scored three goals and picked up two assists in eight matches since joining Perugia in January from Vis Pesaro. The Italian outfit paid €70,000 for the striker at the turn of the year, and they will hope that he can continue to perform at a high level for them.

Manchester United need to sign a striker

Meanwhile, Manchester United will certainly hope to sign a quality striker in the coming months. Summer signing Rasmus Hojlund has picked up form in recent weeks, but he needs more support in the attack. The Red Devils must invest in another reliable goalscorer, and it remains to be seen who they end up with.

Manchester United have had a difficult season by their standards, and they will be hoping to return to the top of English football once again. They must look to plug the gaps in their squad to challenge for major trophies once again, and signing another quality goalscorer should be a top priority for them heading into the summer transfer window.
