Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with Arsenal and Chelsea keen.

Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the best strikers in world football, and clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are keen on signing him. The Nigerian international has now fuelled further speculations surrounding his future by admitting that he would like a potential switch to England one day and that he will disclose his plans when the time comes.

He said (h/t 90 Min), “Of course one day, definitely, but for now I have other plans in my career I am looking forward to. When the time comes, everyone will know.”

The 25-year-old striker recently signed a new contract with Napoli with a release clause of over £100 million. But it will be interesting to see if Chelsea and Arsenal are prepared to pay that kind of money for him.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a quality striker, especially with the way Gabriel Jesus has performed this season. The Brazilian international has scored just three goals in the Premier League, and Arsenal need a more reliable finisher at their disposal.

Osimhen would be a massive upgrade on Jesus, and he could help the Gunners win major trophies next season. A January move seems highly unlikely, and any transfer would have to wait until the summer window.

As far as Chelsea are concerned, it is no secret that the need a reliable finisher. They signed Nicolas Jackson in the summer. But the Senegalese international has been largely underwhelming and he will need to be replaced.

Osimhen would be a massive upgrade on Jackson, and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can get a deal done. It is fair to assume that Chelsea will have to secure Champions League qualification to attract world-class players like Osimhen.

They have the financial muscle to compete with Arsenal, but missing out on a top four finish could be a huge blow in the transfer race. Although the reported asking price is a premium, Osimhen has the quality to improve most teams in world football, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
