Victor Froholdt comments on his future amid Arsenal, Liverpool links

Victor Froholdt remains focused on succeeding for FC Porto amid his links with Arsenal and Liverpool.

In an interview with Portuguese outlet A Bola, Victor Froholdt commented on his future amid his links with Arsenal and Liverpool. The FC Porto midfield metronome has said that interest from high-profile clubs has not affected him and that he is “accepting things as they come” and focusing on excelling for the Portuguese giants.

Froholdt said, “No. I accept things as they come. I’m happy to see people following along and to know that the fans appreciate my work. I focus on the feedback I receive from the coaches, the team, and the things I can do on the pitch. I keep everything else separate from where I am, because now I’m here, playing for FC Porto , and I don’t focus on anything else.”

Victor Froholdt and his promising career so far

Victor Froholdt is the latest promising prospect from his homeland to rise in prominence. Born in Copenhagen, the Dane spent most of his formative years in Denmark and graduated from the youth division at FC Copenhagen before joining FC Porto last summer. The 20-year-old hit the ground running at the Portuguese club, and he has been a game-changer in the middle of the park.

The Danish international has already amassed nearly 4,000 minutes of game time in 51 outings thus far while chipping in with eight goals and six assists, playing his part in his club’s Primeira Liga triumph. His exploits have provoked the interest of several high-profile clubs. Arsenal and Liverpool will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this year.

Premier League transfer beckons for Froholdt?

Arsenal’s interest in Victor Froholdt is understandable. The Gunners are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder, as Mikel Arteta is keen on adding more quality in the middle of the park despite landing Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard last summer. However, the latter is only a short-term solution, as he is on the wrong side of 30. Additionally, Zubimendi has recently lost his spot as the first-choice starter.

As for Liverpool, the Merseyside club will aim to sign a versatile midfielder this summer, as Arne Slot wants a more dynamic midfield combination. Additionally, widespread reports have linked Alexis Mac Allister with a move away from Anfield. So, Froholdt is an option worth considering for Liverpool.

With the 20-year-old Danish international focused on delivering the goods for FC Porto, a summer deal may not be straightforward for his prospective suitors. Additionally, other high-profile clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle United, are monitoring the youngster’s progress.
