Manchester United have made a disappointing start to the season by their standards, and Roy Keane has opined on their struggles.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has slammed the performances of the Red Devils this season and suggested that they are repeating the same mistakes again and again.

Keane believes that Manchester United are in a tough place right now, and Erik ten Hag is under a lot of pressure. The former Manchester United captain has pointed that the Red Devils are using players who are simply not good enough, and repeating those selections again and again is a sign of insanity.

“It’s not good. They’re obviously in a tough place, the manager is under pressure. Again, there’s players play last night for United who you thought would be leaving in the summer. You’re still going back to the same players who’ve got Man United nowhere fast. So, what’s the sign of insanity? Doing the same over and over an expecting a different result. This group’s not going to change. If they’re not going to work as hard as the opposition, then you’re in trouble. And they don’t,” Keane said on Sky Sports.

Manchester United backed Erik ten Hag with substantial funds during the summer transfer window. But the Dutchman has not been able to get the best out of his signings. It will be interesting to see if he can turn things around in the coming weeks.

A club of their stature is expected to compete for the Premier League title. But they are now struggling to push for Champions League qualification. They will be expected to bounce back strongly in the coming weeks and might have to bring in new signings in January.

Ten Hag is clearly under a lot of pressure, and he will have to get his side firing once again. If things do not improve quickly, the Dutchman could easily find himself out of a job. Meanwhile, this is not the first time Roy Keane has slammed those at Manchester United.

Manchester United’s results have been disappointing this season, but the lack of effort in some matches is certainly concerning. The fans will hope that the players can bounce back strongly and produce a reaction in the coming weeks. There is no doubt that they have talented players who are capable of performing far better than they have this season.
