Arsenal have been linked with players like Ivan Toney, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Osimhen, who Robbie Savage suggests can land them the title.
It is no secret that Arsenal need to bring in a reliable goalscorer to support Gabriel Jesus. And former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage has now urged them to sign one of three strikers linked with Chelsea.
He told TEAMtalk, “I do think Arsenal have two very good centre forwards in Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, but I just think a new striker to add to that competition, and one who can get a guaranteed 20 to 25 goals a season, would make all the difference to them. From the Premier League, you’re looking at [Ivan] Toney from Brentford, and beyond that, [Dusan] Vlahovic of Juventus and [Victor] Osimhen from Napoli.”
“Arsenal need to be looking at the three of them and saying ‘do you know what, if we add one of those to our team, they can add another 20 goals-plus to our side over a season’. It could make all the difference…. Those three, I think, can do that [for Arsenal]. Toney’s proven he can do that for Brentford and is a low-risk signing for me as he can already do it in the Premier League.”
“Vlahovic and Osimhen, they’re two other proven options – what a player Osimhen is, by the way (!) – and if I were at Arsenal in charge of their transfers, those are the three names I’d be giving to the board.”
Ivan Toney has been linked with Arsenal, and he is expected to be on the move during the January transfer window. The 27-year-old is currently suspended after breaching gambling regulations and will return to action midway through January.
He is a proven performer in the Premier League and can add goals to the Arsenal attack. He is a reliable goalscorer, and his skill set should complement Gabriel Jesus perfectly. The Brazilian striker has done quite well since his move to Arsenal, but he has not been able to score goals consistently.
Meanwhile, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a move to the Premier League as well. The 23-year-old has done quite well in Italy, and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners decide to make a move for him. The Serb has the physicality and technical attributes to thrive in English football, and he could be the ideal number nine for Arsenal in the coming seasons.
As far as Osimhen is concerned, he is one of the best strikers in the world. The 24-year-old helped Napoli even the Serie A title last season. There is no doubt that he could take Arsenal to a whole new level and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can agree on a fee with Napoli.
All three players have been linked with the move to Chelsea as well. The Blues certainly have more financial resources compared to Arsenal but the Gunners will be competing in the UEFA Champions League, which could give them an edge in the transfer race. Chelsea have been quite poor this season as well, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they missed out on a top-four finish once again.
